A5 Stalogy Planner (for the non-artistic bullet journal)
After decades of using planners, and three years of using an A5 Stalogy as my main planner, I have unbelievably stumbled upon that elusive unicorn known in the planner community as “planner peace.”
Using a Stalogy for a few years has taught me how I use it best and what I’ve been missing each year that I’ve designed it. So this year I’ve made a few changes.
First of all, I am designing it differently. Last year, even in December, I would flip through page after page and tab and tab to find what I needed. That is a sign for the need of a redesign! So instead of putting all the information I need to access through out the year in the front, as is the traditional bullet journal design, I am putting a few important pages in the front and a few important pages in the back.
I’m hoping this will help me to find these frequently-viewed pages more quickly as the year progresses.
Another big change I’ve made this year is that I’ve counted out where all 52 weeks will go (using a week-on-four-pages design structure). Then I drew out a monthly view calendar for every single month. Instead of waiting - as I have done the past few years of using a Stalogy - to draw out each month as it approaches, I have the relief of knowing the year is planned out. If we have an appointment in the future, I write it in…and don’t have to remember to write it in again!
