Review of Bring Me Your Midnight by Rachel Griffin

Bring Me Your Midnight by Rachel Griffin

Bring Me Your Midnight is my new favorite book by Rachel Griffin! This standalone fantasy novel is atmospheric, deeply romantic, and features magical witchy island life.

Bring Me Your Midnight releases on August 1st 2023 and right now you can pre-order an exclusive signed, personalized, and limited edition if you order from Elliot Bay Books HERE.

Mortana Fairchild (what an elegant name!) has known for her entire life that the fate of her coven on Witchery Island rests on her shoulders as the expected bride of an arranged marriage to the son of a powerful Mainland family.. But her acceptance of this duty becomes rocky one fateful night... Mortana soon begins questioning her entire life - family, friendships, and even the arranged marriage. She is surrounded by untruths, and must unravel HER truth and make decisions that impact the environmental health of the island and surrounding sea.

As in her previous novels, Rachel Griffin weaves the beauty of nature throughout this tale but I found all of these characters to be likable. I may not agree with their decisions but there was grace for and exploration behind the “why’s” for each of the characters. And while there is betrayal,, the characters displayed a vulnerability and honesty when confronted. There is a sense of innocence within all of these characters that I found refreshing and satisfying.

I am the type of reader who loves the ‘soulmate romance’ trope, as well as the ‘strong female main character who is special in her own right’ trope, hence why I love Bring Me Your Midnight so much.

Even though I was fortunate enough to be given access to an e-ARC, I have pre-ordered my own copy to hold space on my precious bookshelf real estate!

Contains: a bit of spice but done with class, death and resurrection

{Thank you to Rachel Griffin, NetGalley & Sourcebooks Fire for the e-ARC.}
